१. ओपन सोर्सको पहिलो सेयरिङ क’नै पनिसफ्टवेयरसँग सम्बन्धित थिएन . १९११ मा हेनरी फोर्डले पहिलो ओपन सोर्सको पहलकदमी लिएको मानिन्छ, जसमा अमेरिकी मोटर भेहिकल निर्माणकार्ताबीच टेक्नोलोजी सेयरिङ भएको थियो ।

६. चलचित्र क्षेत्रको प्रतिष्ठित अवार्ड अस्करजस्तै ओपन सोर्स इन्डष्ट्रीको पनि आफ्नै प्रतिष्ठित अवार्ड रहेको छ, जसलाई इन्फो वल्र्ड बोस्सी अवार्ड’का नामले चिनिन्छ । यो अवार्ड २००७ सालमा स्थापना गरिएको थियो ।
